Strong opinions, differing conclusions. With a mix of men and women in the WBBC, leaders of organisations, world-ranked athletes, and communication experts…conversation never falters.
While our book discussions are lively, there is always the unexpected. Each month we appoint a moderator, sharing the role equally over the year. The moderator not only brings a few insights into the author, or the times, but also a question or two to surprise us all. For Gone Girl, Kathy had us all rewrite the ending. For The Great Gatsby, we tried to decide who would play whom in the movie. (None of us guessed Leonardo!)
All of which leads us to rate the books at the end of our discussion in two ways: did we like the book and would we recommend it to anyone? Combined, we call this our Wine Ranking:
5 full wine glasses: It’s a great book – read and share!
4 full glasses: Good book but maybe not for all tastes.
3 full glasses: Good but would recommend only to those who appreciate the genre.
1 full glass: Read it with the help of wine.
Spilt wine: Left a bad taste in our mouths.
